The end of the summer holidays may be fast approaching, but there's still plenty to discover on the Yorkshire Coast with events throughout August and beyond. Plus, the coast is packed with charming towns and villages to explore, and beaches to stretch out on.

Enjoy a weekend of amazing family entertainment and hot air balloons at the stunning Castle Howard estate, and bop along to world-class music acts including Sister Sledge and Sam Ryder. Make a weekend of it and camp over, and enjoy free activities like Raver Tots and a roller rink.

Taking place at Filey Brigg Country Park, feast your eyes upon a wide variety of weird and wonderful kites over the Yorkshire coast in this free two-day event. There'll also be fairground rides, plus the Country Park Cafe will be open for snacks and refreshments.

The glittering Goldwing Light Parade has become a popular tradition for Scarborough, bringing thousands of bike fans to the South Bay for a free seafront party every September. Goldwing motorcycles sporting neon lights transport a fleet of riders on a procession around the Marine Drive, before the night comes to a close with a show-stopping fireworks display.

Alan Ayckbourn, one of the UK’s most successful playwrights, brings his latest play to the legendary Stephen Joseph Theatre next month. 'Constant Companions' weaves together the stories of highflying lawyer Lorraine, lonely bachelor Don and technician Winston, with characteristic humour and compassion.

Founded in 1921, Scarborough Golf Week has been attracting golfers to the picturesque North Yorkshire Coast year after year. Taking place across Filey, Scarborough's South Cliff and North Cliff, and Whitby golf courses, this year sees 18 competitions hosted across 6 days. Why not extend your stay and explore more of these stunning courses and surrounding area? 

The legendary Scarborough Spa Orchestra is back this summer for their 111th year. Enjoy world-class performances while overlooking the sea, with seven concerts per week, including a special teddy bears picnic for little ones.

Have you visited the magnificent South Cliff Gardens? Recently renovated, the gardens offer stunning sea views, a range of beautiful themed gardens, and family fun with a putting green and play area.

New to the gardens this year, Love Stories is a digital audio trail that delves into real-life love stories connected to the gardens, told by those who experienced them, with orchestral backing and community choir. 

The Seaside Heritage Network have included the gardens in their list of top seaside experiences in the UK, and voting is open to whittle this down into a Top Ten Bucket and Spade List!
